Combined portfolio
$1,882,010
-$18,990 (-1.00%) vs. start of test

The market started the week on edge, with stocks mostly slipping and oil jumping sharply as a string of serious events in the Middle East — including a tanker struck by mines in the Strait of Hormuz and an Iranian drone attack on a UAE base — rattled investors and sent crude prices higher.

The dip-buyers had a split day. The more experienced of the two adapting versions, the one that has quietly refined its approach over time, continues to lead the whole experiment at nearly 13% up — it nabbed a tidy win on an oil-services position before closing it out. The frozen version and the evolving one both took some stops, trimming their gains slightly. Meanwhile, the traders betting against the market got badly burned: the bear strategy was stopped out of two short positions for over $1,700 in combined losses, and the gold-to-silver ratio trader is sitting on a meaningful paper loss as gold pulled back. The inverse-rotator remains the portfolio's deepest wound, down nearly 18% on the year.

All told, the Ledger slipped about one percent on the day — not a disaster, but a reminder that geopolitical shocks can reshuffle things quickly.
