Agent 3 — Gold/Silver Ratio

ROTATION
HEALTHY

Mean-reversion between GLD and SLV. Rotates to silver when gold:silver per-ounce ratio crosses 80, to gold when ratio drops below 50; 50-80 is a hold band. v2 adds a hardcoded -20% drawdown stop on the held position regardless of ratio.

The goal isn't to make dollars — it's to grow ounces. The agent holds either gold (GLD) or silver (SLV) at all times and rotates between them when the gold-to-silver price ratio gets extreme. Historically that ratio has hovered around 65, swinging up to 80 or down to 50 over multiyear cycles. When the ratio gets high (gold expensive relative to silver), the agent sells its gold and uses the proceeds to buy as much silver as it can afford at that moment. When the ratio gets low, it sells the silver and buys gold. Each rotation should leave the agent with more ounces of the destination metal than it would have had if it had simply held the original metal through the swing. Over many cycles, ounces compound. The dollar P/L is incidental; the success metric is the ounce count, and specifically the ounces accumulated above what a buy-and-hold of one metal would have produced.

This agent will start trading when the conditions above are met. Most often that's a monthly rebalance window or a specific market-condition trigger (z- score, momentum threshold, regime flip). The Intelligence view shows the tickers it's watching right now.

Excluded from fleet totals. This agent measures success by ratio rotation between gold and silver, not dollar P/L — its equity is intentionally left out of the home-page PORTFOLIO, TODAY, and DEPLOYED CAPITAL numbers so they reflect the rest of the fleet honestly.

Ounce Ledger

The strategy's actual success metric. Dollar P/L is incidental — ounces accumulated is what we're tracking.

Ounces are approximations based on the ETF conversion factors (GLD ≈ 0.1 oz gold/share, SLV ≈ 1.0 oz silver/share). They drift slightly over time due to fund expenses, which is acceptable for a regime-trigger strategy. A future enhancement will surface ounces-gained-per-rotation by reconstructing the journal as a chain of swaps and comparing against a one-metal buy-and-hold counterfactual.
